Even without mods, Stellaris evokes the universe of Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway and Scott Bakula’s hairy chest. There isn’t a 4X game better suited to Star Trek than Stellaris, not even the official one from 1999, Birth of the Federation, which was terrible despite the countless hours I spent wasting my time with it. I’m going through the best of the bunch, Deep Space Nine, at the moment, and it remains just as compelling as it did back when I first sat, transfixed, after school, watching the adventure of Sisko and his eclectic crew. With a new Star Trek show in production, my hunger for that venerable sci-fi universe has increased tenfold, and I’ve found myself once again devouring the previous shows. I noticed New Horizons at just the right time. When my Reman shock troops’ boots hit the icy ground, I realised that Star Trek: New Horizons, a Stellaris mod, was my favourite ever Roddenbery-flavoured game. This was a symbolic war.Īs my jade vessels bombarded the frozen Andorian homeworld, the Tal Shiar informed me that yet another Federation ship had been successfully sabotaged. The real goal, of course, was neighbouring Vulcan. Warbirds screeched out of the shipyards of Romulus and Remus on a direct course for the closest Federation worlds, those belonging to the chilly Andorians. I made all the vehicles, structures and most of the code at only 5 hours and it could be less if I had been fighting with my 3Dmax by some problems with a bad shader. If you want know about it, I do not wait more of two or three days working with each addtional faction. Some of them very good as you will see other day. Probably I´m crazy starting some like this but I need them and even if you see only one vehicle, I have finished 6 from this faction and it is a matter of time add them to the game. Many things can be made if I have motivation. Probably tomorrow when I show this unit, I add another fun and good unit for the Federation. However, in the end of the video, you can see how I´m added a new unit, I will not say by the moment the unit but it will be a infantry unit. ![]() I have added the Star Trek New Worlds music. Wow! I'll think of something intelligent to say later. It will not be difficult if I take a close look in the old designs from STNW. Even probably I will make some more vehicles and structures. There are many things which I can make from it at my mod. By example the phasers from Federation are blue and they not a beam. Other Aliens are Vulcans and another unknow race from the old Elite Force 2 game.Ībout more things, I have mounted a old Pentium III 1ghz with a Voodoo 3 graphics card and I´m playing the old Star Trek New Worlds, I wanted see how the things were made at this game and I will add several similar features as the weapons. These beings will be spawned by several buildings at different planets. I have updated the planets, nebulae and star backgrounds. This will not be the final galaxy because I´m making it with more space between planets and thinking a bit in the future because perhaps one day I add the TNG era. Here you can watch some minutes from the galactic conquest. However the mod looks so fun than I´m taking some more of time adding some good stuff and additional improves. Lately I have reach the first stage from my mod development where the basic things are working. I have not written nothing for some of time.
